Bio/Background
I’m a people person by nature. Kids and animals have always been drawn to me, probably ‘cuz I’m a kid at heart. My family thinks I’m a natural born Santa and so do I!
I belong to the International Brotherhood of Real Bearded Santas. I belong to the one & only, greatest Santa Group ever, The Lone Star Santas. I’ve a clean background check, as have all Lone Star Santas, it’s a requirement. I was born in Arkansas but got to Texas as fast as I could.
I’m committed to The Santa Clause Oath. I’m a grad of The National Santa School and have earned my Santa Clauseology diploma. My recently passed, best friend since childhood was a professional Santa. I admired him greatly, both personally and professionally. Like me, he was a happy go lucky guy and a devout Christian. He encouraged me to try on the red suit. I’m so glad I did- it fits, it fits! He trained me too. I dedicate my Santa career to my pal Santa Randy from Montana. His Mrs. Clause is still in the kitchen and a great friend and mentor to us.
We think it’s a privilege and honor to join the ranks of the man who started this magical tradition, a Greek monk who lived in Myra, Turkey about 300AD. What a joy to see the children’s eyes light up when they visit with Santa Lockhart. I’m thrilled to get to wear the red suit and take my responsibility seriously, both my physical appearance and my Santa persona. We all hold Santa’s image in high regard and he has some very big boots to fill! My own boots are shined to a high gloss, my beard is full of curls these days, and head to toe I’m ready for a photo and a personal visit. My appearance is always clean, neat and very presentable, whether wearing the red suit or not. Non smoker, non drinker. Each child should have a happy, memorable and magical Santa visit, always. Typically, I like to show and explain my 4 magic keys, talk about the nice list, encourage them to be kind to others year-round, find out what they are dreaming of for Christmas, sing with them or read a short story if time permits and more. Ideally, I like to have at least 5 minutes with each child, depending on the venue and more if time permits.
I enjoy spending time with our grandkids, attending church and bible study. I play softball during the season. And of course, I enjoy spending time with Mrs. Clause. She joins me this year in my profession. WooHoo! Or should I say Ho Ho Ho!! One of Mrs. Clause’s very Favorite things to do is read to children, she is a superb storyteller, professionally trained too. We’re both proud Navy veterans. I was a secretary aboard The USS Saratoga, Mrs. Clause was in the Dental Corp and also performed regularly with the US Marine Corp Marching Band at Disney World in Orlando. Mrs. Clause likes to crochet, teaches 2nd grade Sunday School, and tutors two of our grandkids.
I’m in my 2nd season as a pro Santa and it’s such a fun, rewarding job! I’ve visited at private parties & the North Pole Express. We can also accept invitations at tree lightings, parades, cookies/brunch/dinner with Santa, senior, special, corporate, and media events, non-profit events and more. I can adjust to your venue.
